We are wrapping up peanut harvest in north Florida, and farmers are reporting variable results this year. Irrigation had some benefits in our drier areas, although it did not completely alleviate effects of high temperatures this season. Harvesting weather has been near ideal, with few rain events during the months of September and October. The sandy soils in this area make harvesting easy, unlike the more loamy soils in Alabama, Georgia, and the panhandle of Florida.
I was invited to Lee Peanut Farms in Lee, Florida to observe peanut harvest. Thanks to the management and employees at Lee Peanut Farms for sharing the north Florida peanut harvest experience with us.
Nice video mace and brooks !
